The research documentation and research reports give an overview of the research conducted at the Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt since 1994.

Research documentation: Research projects (self-funded projects and projects funded by third parties) and publications have been recorded in the database since 1999.
The objectives of research documentation are, among other things, to provide:

• An overview of participation in research programmes (national and international)
• A description of contract research
• A description of national and international research collaborations
• Research data for reports and enquiries (internal and external)
• A presentation of the University’s research profile
• A picture of the personal research results of the individual academic members of staff
• Fields of potential research for interested parties (university staff, media representatives etc.)

Research reports: Research reports became the traditional method for recording scientific performance at the Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt as early as 1987. Since 1999 project data and publications have been generated from the research documentation.

As a result of the ever-increasing growth in research activity, the original reporting period of four years has had to be reduced from four to two years.
