| Short CV | Bernhard Rinner is a Full Professor and chair of pervasive computing at Klagenfurt University (Austria) where he is currently serving as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Technical Sciences. He received both his PhD and MSc in Telematics from Graz University of Technology in 1996 and 1993, respectively. Before joining Klagenfurt he was with Graz University of Technology and held research positions at the Department of Computer Sciences at the University of Texas at Austin in 1995 and 1998/99. His current research interests include embedded computing, embedded video and computer vision, sensor networks and pervasive computing. He has authored and co-authored more than 100 papers for journals, conferences and workshops, has led many research projects and has served as reviewer, program committee member, program chair and editor-in-chief. Prof. Rinner has been co-founder and general chair of the ACM/IEEE International Conference on Distributed Smart Cameras and has served as chief editor of a special issue on this topic in The Proceedings of the IEEE. He is member of the IEEE, IFIP and TIV (Telematik Ingenieurverband).

| Short CV | Heidelies Aschbacher attended the Business Academy in Feldkirchen, graduated 1996 and started her professional education in tourism. She was employed as front- and backoffice manager and as manager’s assistant in hotels of premium categories and was responsible for sales and marketing. In 2005 she decided for an occupational change and started to work as sales manager for both national and international businesses. Since April 2007 she supports the Pervasive Computing Group. She deals with the administration, financials and the organization of the group and their various research projects.

| Short CV | Bernhard Dieber was born 1984 in Friesach, Austria. He studied “Applied Informatics” at Klagenfurt University. In 2006 he attended an exchange semester at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zürich. In 2008 he received his DI-degree, doing his Diploma Thesis in the field of RFID-Localization at the Institute for Networked and Embedded Systems (Pervasive Computing Group). Parallel to his studies he worked as an independent software-developer. From May 2008 until September 2009 he worked as a researcher for the Austrian Institute of Technology in cooperation with the Pervasive Computing Group at Klagenfurt University. From October 2009 until January 2012 he worked in the SRSnet research project at the Pervasive Computing Group. In February 2012 he joined the teaching staff of the Pervasive Computing Group as an University Assistant.

| Short CV | Lukas Esterle was born 1983 in Steyr, Austria. He studied Computer Science at Klagenfurt University. In 2006 and 2007 he worked as a software engineer intern at BMW in Steyr. From 2008 till 2009 he spent ten months in the USA working as an intern at Rether Networks Inc. in Stony Brook, NY. In 2010 he received his Dipl.-Ing.-degree, doing his master thesis on identifying spatial relationships in digital images at the Institute of Information Technology (Distributed Multimedia Systems). In September 2010 he joined the Pervasive Computing Group at Klagenfurt University as a research staff member in the EPiCS-Project (Engineering Proprioception in Computing Systems). In November 2011 he switched to the teaching staff of the Pervasive Computing Group where he continues his work towards his PhD.

Herwig Guggi was born in Klagenfurt in 1984. His technical education started at the HTL (higher institute for technical education) for Electronics, Telecommunication and Computer Techniques in Klagenfurt. After school he began his studies of Telematics at the University of Technology in Graz. During the studies he was involved in several projects in the fields of RFID, near field communication and trusted computing. In 2008/2009 he worked on his master thesis on image fusion in cooperation with CTR (Carinthia Tech Research) which he finished in February 2009. From 2009 to 2011 he worked on the CLIC prject with the TU Wien and TTTech (an industrial partner). In 2011 he joined the team of the EPICS project.

Vidya Sagar Kantamneni was born in 1987 in Machilipatnam, India. He is an Alumnus of Nettur Technical Training Foundation where he received Diploma in Electronics (Polytechnic) with Distinction in 2006. His professional experiences include Studentship and Tutorship at the Department of Pervasive Computing in 2010-11 and Internships at Infineon Technologies, Villach and Robert Bosch, Plochingen. He received his Bachelor degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Khulna University of Engineering and Technology in Bangladesh in 2007. Umair Khan was born in 1981. He received his Bachelor in Computer System Engineering from Quaid-e-Awam University of Engineering in Nawabashah in Pakistan. Afterwards he joined the Computer System Engineering Department as a lecturer at the same University. In 2008 he started to study Information Technology in the masters programme. In 2010 he received his MSc with specialization in Intelligent Transportation Systems. In April 2010 he joined the Pervasive Computing Group and is now working on his PhD thesis.

Markus Quaritsch was born 1979 in Großpetersdorf, Austria. He studied Telematics at Graz University of Technology. In 2005 he earned his Dipl.-Ing. degree with distinction, doing his thesis in the field of embedded video surveillance systems at the Institute for Technical Informatics. In fall 2005 he started his dissertation the SmartCam project at the Institute for Technical Informatics in cooperation with the Austrian Research Centers GmbH and received his Ph.D. degree in technical sciences in 2008 (again with distinction). In May 2008 he joined the Pervasive Computing Group where he works as senior researcher on the Microdrones project.

| Short CV | Melanie Schranz was born 1986 in Klagenfurt, Austria. She attended two semesters the University of Applied Science in Klagenfurt and studied Telematics and Network engineering. In the winter semester 2006 she switched to the University of Klagenfurt and started with the new program of Information Technology in the baccalaureate. Already in 2008 she joined the Pervasive Computing Group as teaching assistant. In July 2011 she received her Master of Science with distinction at the University of Klagenfurt. Her master thesis compasses reaching a consensus over a multi-camera network by using the approach of Kalman and Particle filtering. Further research activities will extend the topic of her master thesis.

Thomas Winkler was born in 1980 in Graz, Austria. He studied Telematics at Graz University of Technology and in 2005 he earned his Dipl. Ing. (MSc) with distinction. He did his thesis in the field of middleware systems for embedded video surveillance cameras at the Institute for Technical Informatics (ITI). In fall 2005 he joined the Institute for Applied Information Processing and Communications (IAIK) as a researcher in the EU-funded project "Open Trusted Computing" (OpenTC). He worked on Java security solutions and was the initial designer and developer of both the jTSS Wrapper and the pure-Java jTSS. He is an active member of the JSR321 expert group and the TCG embedded systems work group. In May 2007 he joined the Institute of Networked and Embedded Systems (NES) at Alpen-Adria University Klagenfurt. His research interests are focused on pervasive smart camera systems and include system architectures as well as operating system and middleware aspects. Security and privacy in visual sensor networks have become a central topic of his work. In July 2011 he completed his PhD studies with distinction. As part of his research he developed a TPM-enabled embedded camera system called TrustCAM. Security and privacy protection are inherent features of the system.

In 2006 he earned his Master of Science (Dipl.-Ing.)-degree with distinction, doing his thesis in the field of RF identification and system simulation on embedded platforms. at the Institute for Technical Informatics (ITI). In June 2005 he joined the RF engineering group at CISC Semiconductor Design+Consulting GmbH in Klagenfurt as design and field applications engineer. The focus of his work was the design and development of RF sensor technologies, measurement and emulation systems based on embedded DSP and FPGA systems with high performance signal acquisition and generation units. He further was responsible for the development of advanced measurements and simulations suites based on National Instruments PXI hardware for RF tests and evaluations. Later he also joined the automative group where he developed testing environments for semiconductor manufacturers and supported those in the test and design process. He joined the Pervasive Computing Group in February 2009.

| Short CV | Saeed Yahyanejad received his B.Sc. in Applied Mathematics from Sharif University of Technology in 2003. Thereafter he had been working for 4 years in the fields of network and database administration and the corresponding security issues. In 2009 he received his M.Sc. in Information and Communication Systems Security at the KTH - Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden. He performed his master thesis regarding the Barcode Image Deblurring at the Visual Computing- Research and Development- department at Ericsson, Stockholm. He also accomplished a MS Windows HPC project at the PDC High Performance Computing center. In this project he utilized the MATLAB parallel computing toolbox in order to submit parallel jobs over the windows cluster and test the parallel computing performance. He joined the Pervasive Computing Group in September 2009 and researches on the “cDrones”- project.
