The Institute of Information Technology (ITEC) at Klagenfurt University encompasses the computer and communication technology aspects of the Informatics Department. ITEC is comprised of two research groups with two full professors and, currently, 25 scientific, technical and administrative staff. The Institute´s research focuses on distributed multimedia systems and multimedia communication.

We are also active participants in several national and international research projects, ranging from fundamental research to application-oriented projects and direct cooperation with industry. In addition we often act as hosts for conferences and regularly publish in refereed international journals and conference proceedings.
