Biometrics and Clinical Statistics.
The research unit “Biometrics and Clinical Statistics” deals with developments and applications of statistical methods in the biological sciences, especially in medical research. A primary goal is to integrate the approach of exact methods into clinical research areas. Applied Statistics supplies tools to guarantee developments and conduct of clinical studies including the formulation of its research targets, its modelling, the randomization, quality control, and biometric evaluations, according to international standards.
These aims are pursued by close contact to clinical research institutions and also to the international biometric community. The unit is involved in a multiplicity of clinical research projects actively backing its implementation; moreover we are involved in expert’s reviewing processes on research from other sources.
